About the Doctor

     Hossain Ronaghy graduated from School of Medicine Shiraz University in 1961. He had an internship in Queens General Hospital and Residency of Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Illinois in 1965. He was also Chief Resident and Instructor at Chicago Medical School. In 1966, Ronaghy went to Shiraz as Assistant Professor of Medicine and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1970. He established and chaired Department of community medicine at Shiraz University in 1972. From 1972–1975, he was International Associate at John Hopkins University. He became Visiting Professor of UCLA in 1976-1977. In 1975 promoted as Professor of Medicine and Community Medicine at Shiraz University. He established and was Dean of Fasa School of Medicine, Fasa, Iran between 1975- 1979. 

     Upon his return to the United States, Dr. Ronaghy has been professor of Family and Community Medicine at University of California, San Diego since September 1981. He has been consultant of WHO UNICEF and AID (Agency for International Development) and has published over 70 papers on Health Care, Medical Education, Nutrition and Trace Elements. He has established a center for Population Studies at Shiraz University and chaired this center between 1973-1975 He also established rural health program and village health worker program at Shiraz University, which trained health workers, who gave primary health care to approximately 1.5 million residents of rural area.
